Dear Friends,
We warmly invite all Syro-Malabar Catholic faithful to support an important petition linked below. This petition is being submitted to the Holy See, seeking justice, clarity, and pastoral fairness for our community—especially in light of the recent denial of rightful access to the sacraments by the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Great Britain.
Please note with sincerity and respect:
- 🙏 We hold no opposition toward the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Great Britain as a religious institution.
- ✝ Our concern is solely with certain practices that have caused deep pain, confusion, and pastoral injustice among the faithful.
Why This Petition Matters
We are making this appeal to gather the signatures of the faithful so that we may present a united and truthful plea before the Holy See. Serious concerns have arisen due to unethical and pastorally unacceptable practices, including the denial of essential sacraments—from Baptism, even in the case of a six-month-old child, to the withholding of the Sacrament of Matrimony for several young couples.
These actions are not only contrary to canonical norms and the pastoral mission of the Church, but they also violate the principles of religious freedom protected under civil law in this country, including the Human Rights Act, which upholds every individual's right to worship freely—whether in the Latin Church or any other Catholic Church.
As faithful members of the Syro-Malabar Church, we cannot remain silent in the face of practices that wound families, disrupt sacramental life, and contradict the Church's call to shepherd, not exclude, the People of God.
